Meet Our Founder
Hi, I'm Ben.
Three years ago, I booked a one-way flight and spent 15 months backpacking across different countries.
It was one of the best experiences of my life - the people, the places, the freedom. But I also realised something very quickly.
Planning while travelling was exhausting.
I was constantly jumping between maps, notes, saved posts, booking sites, and messages. Every move meant replanning transport, checking where to stay, and worrying about what I might be missing.
Backpacking was meant to feel simple.
Instead, planning felt like work.
Why I built Backpacker Hero...
When I returned to the UK, I decided to build the tool I wish I’d had while travelling.
Backpacker Hero was created to bring everything into one place - routes, destinations, transport, and planning - without taking away the spontaneity that makes backpacking special.
It’s not about telling people where to go.
And it’s not about selling tours.
It’s about helping travellers plan smarter, move more confidently, and spend more time actually experiencing their trip.
